This 6 minute promotion for the television series LOST IN SPACE
was shown to affiliate CBS stations in the spring of 1965, severalk months before its premiere. Notice the opening line: "How Far-out can you get?"
INDEED! also see my video "Robot Screen Test" and "Irwin Allen remembered by the Robot"

  • The music used in this "demo reel" came from the CBS music library (most of the cues were originally used on "THE TWILIGHT ZONE").

  • some of the music for the pilots and show were written by Bernard Herrmann for such movies as

The Day The earth Stood Still and Garden of Evil. Cuts from those scores showed up on

the show all the time. One good example is "Follow the Leader" at the end of the first season.

  • wonderful show here it is 2012 tomorrow and it STILL howlds up today

  • hi ...where can i get a full episode of this classic from my childhood

  • Pretty far-out, daddy-o.

  • the right show for the right generation

  • Ironically, the decision to make the first season in black-and-white made the series more timeless. It looks less cheesy than many of the color sci-fi spectacles that came after it. The black-and-white actually gives the first season a more classic feel than it would otherwise have had had it been shot in color.

  • Fasinating. If only the failed remake pilot had shown more imagination
