Great clip. Thanks for posting. This aired on Tuesday, October 17, 1989, just hours before a major earthquake struck San Francisco.
Rather spent much of this night anchoring a special report on the quake.
For a brief time in the fall of 1989, CBS experimented with having Dan Rather stand up while delivering the news.
