Course Readings In Learning Management Systems

The Learning Tools Interoperability (LTI) protocol provides opportunities for third parties (libraries or library vendors) to create immersive experiences for a variety of learning management systems (LMS) (e.g., Blackboard, Canvas, D2L, Moodle, Sakai). EBSCO, a provider of library databases and discovery services, has created an LTI-compliant tool that allows course instructors to build assigned reading lists without ever leaving the LMS. This video includes a brief explanation of the LTI protocol (for those interested in building LTI tools), demonstration of how the EDS Reading List tool makes use of it to the benefit of course instructors, and discussion of how this technology can help libraries add value to the teaching and learning experience.
