Emperor: Rise of the Middle Kingdom gameplay video.

From the "City Building" series of Caesar I, II, III, IV, Pharaoh and Zeus. Emperor is the newest of the 2D versions, released in 2002. If you played Caesar 3 back in the day, you will definately like this game as it uses very similar game mechanics but with better 2D graphics.

I think it was made by BreakAway Games in conjunction with Impressions (who made Caesar/Pharaoh). It has the same game mechanics but the most updated graphics in the 2D series.

Click on Religion tab, then click the actual word in the top-right.

@St4rdog can you do that on random map?...cos thats what i mostly use atm while tryign to get back into the game and cant find that ancestors tab nor get any monuments...mind you ive got the spainish version so dunno if that makes a difference or not

Some maps don't allow monuments I think. You can create an Open Play map and choose what monuments you want to be available.

Click the Yin Yang symbol, then click the large yellow word in the top-right to give donations to ancestors. It doesn't really look like a button.

I bought this game about 7 years ago, played it for about a year, and then stopped. Now, 7 years later, I started to play this game again, and I gotta tell ya, its more enjoyable then most of the recent games!!!! Anyone else still playing this game?

@St4rdog How can i play the game online?? and can you please tell me why some people have maps that i don't have?? And other thing how can i get more than two army forts, the game doesn't let me!!!

@St4rdog Actually, I'd say zeus has the best graphics in the 2d series, and it's one of the more "up-to-date" versions.
