Kudos to you for showing what a *proper* generator sub-panel looks like. Those little six-switch "gen-tran" boxes are dangerous because they don't contain full size circuit breakers. I recently completed a similar setup; check out the photos at goo.gl slash QI26b to see it in detail.
Also I see that this video shows a hookup cable made with 10 gauge NM ("romex") cable. This will work but because NM cable is solid, not stranded, it will eventually wear down and break. Use proper cable.

Sometimes people feed the portable generator cable into an outlet to backdrive the electrical panel. This is extremely dangerous to do and should never be done. There is high risk of causing a fire or killing someone, including a line worker.
