This is my dad, and he still tells his story with grace. Believe it or not, this is the short version. He didn't talk about his war experiences for forty years. One day, I was visiting and flipping through the TV stations and began watching the movie Stalag 17. He said quietly, "You know, I was in Stalag 17." Slowly, the story came out, and we were all amazed. It really was a remarkable generation.
