Performed by violinist Lu Si-qing and Philharmonic Wien at the Golden Hall of Vienna.

Chinese musician Lu Si-qing (呂思清) play on a Stradivarius violin ( Henryk Wieniawski), Lu praised by the Western media as "a great talent and an unparalleled violinist", is the first Asian to have won a gold medal in the International Paganini Violin Competition in Italy in 1987. Lu won the honor at the remarkably early age of 17.

At age eight, he was accepted at the Central Conservatory of Music in Beijing and became the youngest person to study there.

Lu is a master of traditional violin playing techniques, who brings oriental spirit to his playing. Lu blends elements of simplicity, majesty, placidity, and sophistication into this piece.

This concerto was composed by two College Students Chen Gang and He Zhanhao in 1960s.

  • i always think that Shanbo Liang and Yingtai Zhu is much romantic than Romeo and Juliet....

  • Butterfly Lovers symphony has been done by many violinists but non has performed it as well as Lu Si Quig. I get tears in my eyes each time I hear him play. Maybe it's because he does it with such passion.

It feels really nice to have that nostalgic moment.

  • 听得最多的交响乐

  • I apologize if people feel I'm ruining the song by saying this, but this is like an abridged version. The real thing is 25 minutes long. They skipped over parts at 3:09, 4:32, a huge chunk after 6:36 and of course they cut it 5 min to the end. If you get a chance, listen to the full version!(if you have this comment does not apply to you)
