@damonsmedley The v10's sound 10 times better when you are actually at the track. Don't know if you ever went to a race when it was v10's but i did and it sounds incredible!!!!

@asfalteter: I'm not sure about the total cost of the track, but I know the island isn't artificial. There was some dredging/reclamation done, but Yas island has always been there. Take a look at old satellite photos of the area. The island was there many many years before Abu Dhabi announced the F1.

It must be very disorienting for the person riding in the back. They cant see anything in front of them, only to the sides. Imagine coming up to a tight corner under heavy braking from say 180mph and not know which way you are about to go! I'd probably get car sick!

ok fair enough. thats what i read in the 'top gear' magazine. it said; "built in time by an army of workers. the cost is beyond measure. about 36 billion dollars for the whole island is the best estimate." so i guess 'top gear' was wrong

These costs are also building the artificial island on which the circuit is located, and the brand new hotel included. The lighting has a significant share of the amount. The cost for the construction of the circuit was initially estimated at 250 million U.S. dollars.
