See a tour of master bladesmith Bob Kramer's knifemaking workshop and watch him turn a length of steel cable into a slab of damascus steel.

  • Brilliant idea turning old cable into damascus steel knives. His finished results were spectacular.

  • 1:26 that is a beast of a machine.

  • Great video! I work in the printing industry, we use stainless steel doctor blades. Long and very thin, and about an inch wide. Think I could use these for Damascus?

  • I am really new at this, but that is kinda what i thought... it is more of a insurance thing... i appreciate the reply...

  • @Surveyor64 sure .. but 1) its a lot work .. and 2) there is more risk in it that you will fail and wires wont bind . power tool will kinda force them to "glue" togeter.

  • can damascus be made without a power hammer?..

  • @CNrocks01 wrong!

  • @egeotomasyon Ferric chloride...

  • @egeotomasyon Aye, it's to clean off the surface to show the damascus layering

  • VERY Sweet kitchen knives.. I saw Bob Kramer on Modern Marvels on the Science Channel, 23.10.11..
