Northwest Alfa Romeo Club evening lapping session at Pacific Raceways on August 27th, 2011 (after the Proformance/Cantrell lapping day). This is a few of laps picked out of one of the three 20 minute sessions we had. This is in the intermediate run group (Group B).
The car is a 2009 Volkswagen SportWagen TDI. It's a 2.0L 16v TDi (diesel) engine with stage 1 Revo software (around 175hp/290 ft-lb). The car is on Koni coilovers and has an H&R 24mm rear sway bar (middle stiffness). The rotors are all upgraded to the GTI spec, the pads are StopTech Street Performance, the lines are StopTech stainless, and the fluid is Motul. The tires are Dunlop Direzza Z1 'Star Spec'. This was the first time I've really had a chance to push this car in the dry with these brakes, tires, and the rear sway bar. I think my fastest time was somewhere around 1:50. The car does very well in the corners, but only has a top speed of about 113mph on this course, so most cars will catch up on the straight. (details: http://fakelag.net/wagon )
The camera is a Kodak M1033. It's a p&s camera with decent video, sitting on a Panavise windshield mount. I can't do anything about the wind noise since the Alfa Club is a windows down club. My car is very quiet (can barely hear it as it passes by), so you're not missing any noise anyway.
