PLAY ALL as a movie (including this prologue)

WARNING: Playlist mode ruins the game, may not work in full screen!
This is the primary film from the interactive video, which along with the language tutorial program make up the complete package Star Trek Klingon. The interactive movie is unplayable on most modern computers but the video itself can by played if you install the game and already have other popular codecs installed. It can be played on Virtual PC with Windows 3.1 installed if you're persistent enough.

What I have not been able to recreate with this is the "look" feature where you pause the film, click on various objects, say a tapestry on a wall, or a knife as it's being plunged into your chest, and have the computer tell you the history of the object. I will try to compensage with Pop-Up annotations whenever possible. If you feel some info is wrong or missing, please let me know.

Enjoy!

Qapla'!!

While the opening monologue (before "Did you think i would kill you loDHom?") still has no official documentation, it appears master qurgh has discovered that it is most likely the opening monologue from Shakespeare's Henry V (the "O for a muse of fire" business)

  • yo did anyone ever think maybe the english monologue he says directly after his klingon monologue IS THE FUCKING TRANSLATION OF WHAT HE SAID IN KLINGON?! rofl

  • @rocklobsta1415 Yup, but he doesn't say "leader" till near the end of the English dialoge and says it at the start of the Klingon, so I doubt it. Unless they mixed up the order of the text for the Klingon dialoge, ala Bryan Gyson, but I kinda doubt that. XD

  • Man, fuck Gowron. He answered my ad for a babysitter and did this shit for thirty minutes then stole a mister pibb out of the fridge before falling asleep while my kids played with that daqtagh he's always waving around.

  • @loltehinternet You dumby, that was VOLTRON!

  • The quality is quite good for a FMV-game of this time. What video compression was used?

  • @4K4K1K0 according to Media Player Classic:

    Video: DUCK 320x200 15.00fps [Stream 00]

    Audio: 0x0061 44100Hz mono 177kbps [Stream 01]

  • @Abcormal He has confirmed that all of it is Shakespeare, and that the first line is 'o 'oghlu'meH qul ("Oh, fire for inventing" -> "O, for a muse of fire!" from Henry V, prologue).

    toH: The game's afoot!

  • @pbrskater26 I like Honner to. He was a great Greek poet.

  • When he said,"You are frightened" I was laughing. XD

    ...is that bad? X'D

  • this klingon remains me of patchy the pirate from spongebob

  • Maybe Mark Okrand could tell us for sure. Only problem is, no one knows how to contact him.

  • I CANT READ THAT

  • @GabrielMajere Yes. He was say that the notion that Klingons enjoy the taste of inncoent blood was a lie.

  • nov'? Hurc, might have been more accurate.

  • Late to the party, but I thought these videos were a great way to use annotations as links to revive an adventure game most Trek fans missed out on. And I wish I saw stuff like this more often, or at least with Star Trek: Borg. :3

  • Thank you so much for posing these. I remember playing the game years ago. It's nice to see it all set out so it can be watched like a movie.
