The first ever 17" Unibody MacBook Pro, introduced by Phil Schiller at Macworld San Francisco in january 2009. Steve Jobs was ill at the time, therefore he wasn't available.

The Unibody enclosure was first introduced in October 2008, at a special event ("Spotlight Turns To Notebooks"). Every MacBook got an update at the time, except for the 17", which got delayed till january 2009.

Most notable upgrade in this new 17" MacBook Pro is the new battery technology. It'll run up to 8 hours on a single charge, and can be recharged up to a 1000 times, according to Apple.

  • Haha phil really sped it up half way through. I bet he had to piss.

  • I've got the 15" June 2009 pro with the glass screen and I love it. Had it about a year now and have had zero problems. Its faster than any PC on startup and it shuts down just as fast. My buddy got the 17" with the matte finish. He HATES it. First, its WAY too big for portability, and it is. That thing is just huge. And the matte screen just doesn't look as clear as the glass. It looks like old tech, and it doesn't present colors as well.

  • phil did a great job but steve jobs will always be #1

  • @ismaelrodrigues8 phil schiller

  • Do all the features of the new 17" MacBook Pro come with the new 15" MacBook Pro??? I think it does since they are both new

  • @TechSmack I have one

  • @maniacwithagun767 that's because you haven't seen it right in front of your eyes.

Macbook Pro's 17" display resolution is just amazing. 1080p videos come to life there. It has louder speakers, more connectors and a longer battery life, and it's only a little wider than the 15inch model.

  • @ismaelrodrigues8 pc's don't suck for one reason... they dont have a mouth to do so.. xD nah im just joking pcs dont suck they ave their own advantages but i personally prefer macs

  • @ismaelrodrigues8 i agree. and this guy is Phil Schiller

  • wow!
