This was shot on April 9th, 2009, in Afton, Oklahoma. (Ottawa County)
This video shows a nice evolution from an early wall cloud, into a very nicely defined funnel.
The funnel is very well-defined at the end, before it "ropes-out".
The chase team is David Toner, and myself, Jason Blum.
I shot the video. Please excuse the occasional poor videography... but I was taking photos with two digital cameras at the same time I was operating the video camera. I also apologize for not having a wind screen on the video camera. After the funnel began forming, it became EXTREMELY windy though, so the howling wind is actually pretty representative of what we were hearing and feeling. In fact, some of the camera shake is due to the wind, because it was blowing so hard that I had difficulty steadying the camera at times. This particular camera also lacks an "infinity focus" or manual focus which made focusing difficult near the end.
This was my very first chase. I now have a much better. high-definition camera and more experience, so all future videos will be much higher quality.
Wow, nice take, this is the finger of God, j/k maybe it's a blowing. :)
