"I Can Dream Can't I" was composed in 1938 by Sammy Fain and Irving Kahal, but it took until the Andrews Sisters recorded it in 1949 before it became a big hit. Jimmy Beaumont ordinarily took the lead for The Skyliners, but in this instance it was their sole female vocalist, Janet Vogel (Rapp) who takes the honors. There needs to be a special place set aside in the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame for Janet for no other reason other than providing one of the best "high notes" ever sung on a rock song in The Skyliners' recording of "Since I Don't Have You". Those notes are repeated in this recording (stay until the end), and you get a good idea of just what a marvelous all-around voice Janet had. She died of an apparent suicide in 1980, but her voice will live forever on recordings like this.
Great Singer, Great Song and Great Video...I especially like the pic at 1:45. You put a lot of work into this and it shows. Thanks for doing such a Great Job!!!
