DeMint, Baucus Debate 2011 Obama Tax Hikes

Sen. Jim DeMint (R-S.C.) fights to stop massive tax increases set to hit American families and small businesses on Jan. 1, 2011 with two different amendments. Sen. Max Baucus (D-Mont.) dismisses the move as "a stunt, a gimmick" and refuses to seriously consider taking the tax hikes off the table (Aug. 5, 2010).

the bush tax cuts in combination with his massive spending and his lack of control of the corporate system caused the enormous debt and caused the economic crisis. Those cuts should never have been put in place, because they contributed to the debt of the country. Not extending them is not a tax hike, it's the end of an abomination.

@frankftw The Bush tax cuts were cuts across the board plus tax on interest, dividends, capitol gains and estate tax. Also child tax credits that effect every poor and middle income family. The far left Dems said two years ago they did not want to extend them because they need them for their big government agenda. It makes me wander if they are stalling and trying to blame republicans so they can let them expire. It is their plan to fundamentally change America to a nanny state.

Our problem isn't tax revenue. The Government gets more then enough in tax revenue. The problem is massive spending. Spending way more then you take in. Congress has put us in huge dept because they are stupid.
