The long but not eagerly awaited full playthrough of Turrican 2.

This is a great game, although I do get frustrated with it at points. I previously did a video about it having never played it before and was very impressed.

I had to cheat to impose a continue system but I didn't do anything too shitty like any kind of lives, weapons or health cheats. I never would have been able to finish this without doing this. But I never skipped any part of the game, only continuing at points where I'd already got to. This was done with a combination of "trainer" level skipping and save states.

Since I did succeed in finishing it, and yet failed to do so without cheating a bit, this series is called Jim Fails at Winning at Turrican II.

This continuation was a request by TheEPROM9 and ModernRelik on my 128 subscriber special.

TheEPROM9 has several videos of Turrican 2 on the ST. For a comparison of the game on the two platforms, and to compare what I'm doing with the game being played competently, click here:

Intro music is from the remix of the main Turrican theme by Aki Järvinen, which can be found here:

It fucking rocks I'm sure you'll agree. Original music by Chris Huelsbeck.

  • Noooo save states, I'm disappointed since I wanted an epic 100+ series of you trying over and over again in a grueling death race to the end. ^_^ Good choice of game by the winners. :)

  • @TheBladeJunker sorry man, but gruelling is what it would be rather than epic if I didn't do it this way.

  • @JimPlaysGames You do know I'm being sarcastic, just checking? It may not read as so but all I got are emoticons to add context to this bland medium of text. ;)

  • @TheBladeJunker yeah I don't know why written language never evolved an ability to include irony or tone into it. It's a significant part of it so why it's left out is weird to me. Sometimes I am a bit blind to it anyway though. It seems obvious in retrospect :)

  • I have recorded the Turrican music from one and two on CD. I am the only one who likes it. I love playing it in my car. Thank's for doing this and thank's for mentioning me.

  • @TheEPROM9 the music is my favourite thing about this game. There are tons of remixes, and I even rchestral versions of some of Chris Huelsbeck's music on youtube.

  • I would like to see the creativity and ingenuity creating enemies and worlds in games like this, in modern sci fi FPS games.

  • @JimPlaysGames Good I don't want you to think I'm not enjoying the show. You may not be the best at Turrican but you don't play as badly as you think you do. :)

  • @alex76gr nice one, I could never have finished this without my cheaty continue system thingy.

  • @laffer35 thanks, glad you liked it :D

I realised about the crystals later on, but I would have preferred extra lives, since the "checkpoints" for the continues are only every couple of levels.
