Okinawa is a sub-tropical island in southern Japan. James Knott explores the geography, history, people and culture of this unique place in a series of podcasts. Tune in, learn, and enjoy!!!

  • Do Japanese girls frequently ask to have there picture taken with foreigners???

  • @PopeOnArope123 It happened to my brother-in-law and I few times on our trip through Japan.

  • It's cool how you keep showing us the natural environment of Okinawa... Some of the flowers there look so unlike what I am used too, so pretty.

  • Thanks. I always think that's an interesting part of travel. The trees and bushes are so thick around the island and they have tons of beautiful flowers.

  • How can your advice be to "sit back and enjoy the little things" when you are fully aware that there are some huge spiders lurking around the corner!?

  • I said enjoy the "little" things not the "big" spiders. :)

  • This place has seen the most restoration. Even more than Shuri. it's so much bigger now.

  • I am so envious. Sure we have a great and epic nature around us here in Greenland. Icebergs, great mountains, BUT no beach like in Okinawa. I´m always dreaming about this very place. If only I had some money, then me my wife and son could visit this Paradise...

  • Adorei a coleção de video sobre Okinawa.

  • I loved Okinawa.. 3 years from 99 to 02... such a great place...

  • no no no. it's coz you are a stud

  • I am loving all your videos and I have to say I'm felling very envious too. I have a daughter stationed there at Camp Kinser in the Marines. I would LOVE to visit her there and I would love to go exploring the whole island too. What a great opportunity you have!

  • If you ever go back you should hike the little scenic routes that were built in the mountains. The best views of Okinawan nature and wildlife ever. Go on google maps and find them.
