I caught a lot of good stuff recently, including a exConrail, still in blue with a good RS-3L, GP38-2 leading a mainline train, it was funny because it was leading a SD60M and Dash-9, but the crew chose the GP38-2!

Man what a beautiful location! I love the shot with the fog and falling leaves on the branch line. Wonderful composition! What took you soo long to get these up?
Keep em coming.

I have a lot of videos, primarily in the form of clips, that I have to put together and save into a smaller file than the original digital file, so it takes some time to do a lot of the videos, I'm mostly up to date though, there are a few from last year and January yet.

what is a defect detector?
Sabrestrainsfan 4 years ago
A detector is built into the tracks in which it takes readings of each axle. Sometimes an axle can become stuck, drag, or a bearing can fail resulting in a 'hot box', or a very dangerously hot wheel. Detectors read for these things, although they are not infallible. Other types of defect detectors could be a high car detector, which a train passes through a scensor, and if a car is too high it will set off as a defect.
You can see the detector in the lower-left corner of the screen.
