@Teknmask Yes, it kinda follws the original story of Hans Christian Andersen.They said that they gave their hair to the sea witch in exchange of that knife.They told her to kill the prince and spill his blood on her legs so she could have her tail back.(I hope my english are not so bad..that's why I didn't add english subtitles :s)

I remember these anime's! They used to show these every morning during summer vacation on public access kid's block!

(they're just the japanese equivalent of bootleg movies-that-grandma-might-acci­dentally-mistake-for-the-real-­thing-at-supermarket-register-­side-baskets though. Even if they are in higher quality than most films in this category.)
