Evolution of Consciousness 1 of 3 - UCSC May 18, 2011

The subjective evolution of consciousness, the ancient theory of evolution or reincarnation is inverted/perverted by the modern concept of Darwinian evolution of material bodies. The body does not evolve, the consciousness evolves through various forms of life in the great wheel of samsara. Without consciousness (or Concept, spirit soul) the organism would not be a living entity. Just as the soul survives through changes of body from childhood, youth to old age, so too at the time of death the soul evolves to other forms according to the development of consciousness. Freedom from the cycle of birth and death comes only when one, liberated from material conditioning surrenders in loving service to the Supreme Self-Conscious Absolute Personality of Godhead, the fountainhead of all energy, sentience and fulfillment.
