  • I saw info on the new glass mat batteries, (no liquid) are they deep cycle enough, will they work for an electric vehicle? Are they lighter?

    Thanks Ed

  • I don't know. If you find out could you post it here?

    thanks

  • how do you hinge the truck bed???

  • You can buy a kit from the auto parts store to do that.

  • y donde consigo el motor?

  • There is a company that sells electric motors and controllers for these conversions. Just google it.

Hay una empresa que vende motores eléctricos y los controladores para este tipo de conversiones. Google para hacerlo.

  • Uh, Homer, is it? (really city-fied name there, by the way) Regardless of where they're from, they just put together a working, viable truck through their own hard work and creativity. And where's YOUR electric car, hmm?

  • Thank you so much for posting this, every conversion video is another nail in the big oil's coffin.

  • lol on the speedo it says unleaded only

  • Hey David Grisom, you did a great job. I want to convert my 98 ford windstart to all electric. Do you have any advice for me? Thanks

  • David Grisom sp? Rocks!!! He Obviously knows Electric Vehicle theory, implementation and construction very thoroughly! Thanks for your taking your time to help educate us with your expertise.

  • This is great to see everyone taking matters into their own hands. I also drive my own EV conversion. I drive it 55 miles a day and it has a range of 30 miles on a charge. I plug in between uses so that I can go further. The most I did in one day was 77 miles and I could have gone further but didn't have anywhere to go. You can google my car if you would like to see it at. John Allen's EV conversion. Enjoy and I hope that more folks jump on the boat.

  • thanks for posting this; Dave Grissom is an awesome guy. Go Dave!

  • It sounds good to convert an old ranger to EV, but how does it perform when is loaded?

  • @huntingwithed AGM is nothing new. "Absorbed Glass Mat". Look at Optimas, their yellow-tops are among the best AGM deep cycles. Low internal resistance, high discharge rates, but still, with any 12v battery you have less capacity per unit. There are other AGMs, including 200Ah 6v batteries. Floodies are still some of the best, as far as lead acid goes. If you have deep pockets, go for LiFePO4.

  • Nice!

    Looks like pretty solid work.
