Netbooks and tablets are one thing i believe Microsoft should just stay away from. I know it won't happen, but Windows just doesn't run right on a netbook. Even windows xp is a pushing it. The atom processor isn't strong enough and 1 gig of ram (if you're lucky) windows just runs slow. things that open instantly in linux take 5mins to load in windows. Linux is just a better alternative for machines like netbooks.

For netbooks some Puppy Linux derivatives seem to be the best option presently.

Vista was crap, Windows 7 is nothing but a remake. XP has and always will be the best OS. If MS was smart, they would take a step back, and re-engineer XP to make it better for 64 bit (since windows xp64 really didn't get much support) and everything would be kosher. BUT NO, instead they would rather "dazzle" peoples minds with "visuals". Remember the commercials? They had to LIE to people to get them to look at vista. People came out "oh it looks pretty". Pretty isn't efficient and it sucks.

i seriously love your videos but let me give you some facts about the netbook market.
First of all MS is not complaining and isn't blaming Linux for being competive. Whoever might have commented this from Redmond, is definately not someone who is in charge or takes care of the netbook business.
90% of all Netbooks are shipped with XP Home (ULCPC licence), which helps MS to sell a decade old desktop OS.
But i agree with you on Windows 7. Should be out in Q3. btw. Linux is not evil, try it ;)

So Microsoftt is complaining that Linux is putting a hurt on them? Well, competition can do that.
I don't think Windows 7 ig going to be a netbook OS.
So Microsoft is going to rush Windows 7 out the door? So it will take a few SPs to get that OS to be usable.
I think I will stick with Ubuntu.

The best platform for gaming is a game console -PS3, XBOX, Wii.
I use Linux, it does everything i need, and has a nice selection of Open GL- accelerated games as well.
