Americans who believe in American exceptionalism are part of the problem. Everybody in history has thought that their nation was the best, the chosen, the special. The Greeks called non-Greeks barbarians. The Romans thought that they were bringing law and civilization to degraded societies. Germans believed (and maybe still do) that they were the guardians of Christian European civiliation. The Brits still sing "Land of Hope and Glory" about themselves. Exceptionalism is mere vanity.

Heard Prager say that he likes to figure out the meaning of acronyms. I suggested that he try to figure out IDIOT which is partially inspired by some of his wisdom and my passion for wanting to see through the eyes of people with whom I differ = Clarity over Agreement. Thanks to Dennis for that and the difference in how a program is measured = Left on quantity of input and intent and the Right on results - should add efficiency = return on input.

I am premature in sharing my acronym because it needs a definition clearly associated with it to make it more than the emotional name calling. Such a justified instance in my mind would be Obama's incredible increase in debt justified by Bush's reckless spending. Bush drove US to the edge of the cliff and it would take an IDIOT to support Obama pushing US over the cliff because Bush "DID IT"
