Slipknot vs. Gwar

the ultimate battle of masked metal bands!!! Anyway, my dad is a singer in a metal band, and he survived the 80's, so I was subjected to Gwar. My girlfriend will listen to anything once, and she dug Slipknot, so I was thus subjected to their stuff. the end result is the video you see here.

you're an idiot, there's nothing similiar about these bands or their look. And what's that lame music in the background? If anything, slipknot's costumes look most similiar to Mr. Bungle's in the '90s. If you want to go back real far, it's all Alice Cooper, if you want to go back farther, it's Arthur Brown, who I guess you can call the original "shock rocker." And if you really, really want to know the truth, it's all a variation of Antonin Artaud Theater of Cruelty-he died in the late '40s.

Gwar play heavier and groovier music but you gotta respect Slipknot. Without them, millions of metallers would never be what they are now. They pretty much introduced me to metal.

Add to the fact that Corey Taylor had said that GWAR was a band that had lost their relevance, and Dave Brockie (Oderus Urungus) called Corey Taylor a "big whiner." Not to mention, if you want to consider past bad blood, Mushroomhead and Slipknot had an ongoing feud, and Brockie went on to say that Mushroomhead and GWAR were tight, and that "not all monster metal bands are enemies," relating back to the feud between GWAR and Slipknot.
