Everything else just wants to be a jeep or a jeep knock off this commander can easily out perform the pathfinder on any category hands down

Man most of u guys that commented NEVER DROVE THIS TRUCK IN UR LIFE. I mean o own an 06 commander v6 non the less and this thing is great in any situation rain sleet snow hail blizzards and on the highway @70 mph I get 23mpg in the blizzard we had in NY/NJ I had cops following behind me on the nj turnpike with 2 1/2 ft of snow on the ground. On road off road this JEEP ROCKS there's nothing like a jeep.

so, i bought a 6 cyl commander, and havent had one problem and im now at 57 k, i was wondering is this problem only with the v8 or the v8 hemi, i havent heard any complaints about the v6!! so some one please respond, because im looking to trade up to a v8 4x4

i wouldn't buy a diesel unless I was hauling a heavy trailer constantly.

Get the v6 diesel, 0-60 in about 8 secs (chiptuned) is good enough, right?

I have a 2002 Grand Cherokee with the 4.7 V8 and I love it. I'm pretty sure the newest ones are eons more refined. The diesels are really over priced and don't get much better mpg...that engine is more for towing. As for Jeep overall, I'm still waiting to see where FIAT is going to take them.

and i have no idea who in their right mind would ever buy a jeep. i know they're giving away ridiculous discounts to try to sucker people into owning one right now, but it lags behind every single competitor (the grand cherokee and the commander) in terms of comfort, space, handling, and of course quality. i have no idea who'd buy one unless they had a genuine need for off-road capability (like if you had to off-road every day).

why get a v8 in an suv? the diesel gets better mpg and has more torque. gasoline engines don't suit suv's.

I have owned my commander for a month now, and absolutely love it! The vehicle design really won me over on this one. One of the little 'surprises' I recently discovered with this Jeep is that, due to the 'stepped-up' roofline, I can actually see through the back window in the rear view mirror when the DVD screen is flipped down.

The stalling problem is most likely caused by a faulty ignition switch. I am a commander owner and absolutely love it 24k on the clock and no trouble.
