Reality Day May 22, 2011 (mirror)

May 22 will arrive and once again they, their bible and their religion will again fail to perform as they claim. On this day we need to ask them to forsake their superstitions and join us in reality and reason.

@AncientAtheist there you are again: you judge them for thinking they hold some secret knowledge you claim they don't have.. There are 2 billion Muslims and another billion are Christians and Jews in the world. YOU are the one who claims to hold the secret knowledge of "there is no God". I am not claiming I know the answer, but remember that you cant prove mankind can harness the power of the sun. And yet you hold that truth with certainty because somebody else told you so.

@LasNoches86 Wrong. I hold it as FACTUAL that we can harness the power of the atom because the evidence for it is overwhelming. Likewise, I claim NO "secret knowledge". I claim the evidence for that which THEY ASSERT is insufficient, so I don't believe it. In fact, I don't believe in (for instance) gods like Brahma and Krishna for the same reasons a Christian or Muslim doesn't believe it - the evidence is insufficient.

@sonic4ever567 As I've now said in numerous comments on this thread, people who believe in a "rapture" are just as silly as Camping. You're looking at Camping as being wrong about the rapture, while I'm looking at the idea of the rapture as being absurd.

I hate that people think that ALL Christians believed the world was over.. Correction Harold campings people believed it! Real Christians know it's all up to God so don't blame religion or all Christians blame the man who keeps thinkin he's some type of God

I don't think God is "hiding" just because someone claimed to know the date of Christs return, and they were wrong.

I think that was a single person, making a ridiculous claim, twice, and failing. That doesn't mean God is "hiding". It means A man was wrong. simply put.

I'm a Christian, but I didn't try to predict the end of the world. "Christians have tried to predict the end of the world". Thats not true, A (1) christian tried.

Don't pin it on the millions of us. None of us believed it.

@AncientAtheist You know that humanity can harness the power of the atom because of evidence that you yourself don't understand. People that believe in Brahma and Krishna, as well as Muslims and Christians, believe in their God because of thing that their ancestors experienced and passed down through the generations. Therefore, you know humans harness the power of the atom for the same reason ppl believe in their religion: someone else told you it was so. And there is no reason to disbelieve'em
