OXYGENE variation - played with Eminent 310U + Small Stone + digital delay and Lexicon MPX500 reverb.

Music by Jean Michel Jarre - a great musician. My love to his music and the fact that the 310U is a great instrument and also suitable for my music, convinced me to buy this organ on eBay in 2004.
My friend and me drove 800 km and we picked it up from an old man in Germany. Boy it had a huge weight! We were not amused to bring it to the fourth floor without an elevator. But that's another story... :-)

Such an Eminent organ was used by Jean-Michel Jarre on OXYGENE and many other albums.

Music reproduced by kind permission of Jean Michel Jarre, see

If you want to buy such an organ (not from me, I don`t sell it), please note, that you need more than just this organ to make it sound like in my video: you need a SMALL STONE phaser (the old version from the seventies), a DIGITAL DELAY and an amplifier / mixer with speakers. Using the phaser you can not use the built in speakers. Also you should have a little experience with music production gear...

  • That bassline at the start of the vid...Was that built in to the korg mini pops?

  • @rojman123 no, the bassline was from a Korg MS-10. The Minipops signal was running through the MS-10 filter and overdrived it, at the same time I played the oscillator signal on he keyboard. It was just for fun...

  • You pointed out that it's important to use the original SMALL STONE phaser from the 70's. But what is the difference between the old and the new version of it? As far as I know they are both analog phasers. Probably the newer version is not so noisy. But what else is different?

  • @sauermusicDE It's not noisy at all. It simply sounds different - at least to my ears. It also have different electronic components.

I can distinguish them in a blind test. But both sound great, I have both.

  • sounds great;] are tou going to play some Kraftwerk ?

  • Amazing likeness and technique to the original Oxygene. Very cool! Definitely goes beyond most of the canned digital synths of pre-determined wave forms.

  • @AnalogAudio1 But the original JMJ Phaser was a small stone with two extra pots, modified by Michel Geiss.
