@sucobon They went to Egypt because it was a relatively wealthy and advanced society and because all the other places had either; authorities that were equally oppressive, or, were even less safe (such as among nomadic peoples).

I love this movie, and especially the magnificent film music crafted by Alfred Newman and Bernard Herrmann; I think it gets better each time I see it.

this is FAAAAAAAAKE story..
i saw this movie and i felt baaad .. i'm egyptian and i red enough about our history..and if Egypt was like this and unsafe this much ,so why many people from deffirent countries wanted to come to live and staying, also every thing isn''t like the egyptian peolpe ( clothes, language , features , actions and even thier food ) .
this is the worest movie i had ever seen.

this is ridiculous the guy didn`t even serve put once as the royal physician. He got that sorrowful over a stupid woman. He`s retarded. He brought all of it on himself.
