In this video I quickly turn a rough piece of Black Locust to a bowl shape using my own design woodturning tool. I sell these on Etsy.com and on my web site at http://WWW.DWMontville.com. You can buy complete tools or just the hardware to make your own handle for. They come in two sizes, standard using a 1/4 inch square bit, or micro using a 1/8 inch square bit. I also sell a sharpening block to make it easy to sharpen or shape the bit end on a conventional grinder.

  • Always a dicklike jn the views no matter what?

  • @dumanator1 I don't even know what you're saying in this comment. Please explain.

  • Yes, it is a scraper, and a version of the Oland tool. Scrapers do cut fine, but differently than a gouge. I can finish cut with both gouges and scrapers. Thing is you have to learn to use either one.

  • @robohippy Good comments and observations. The argument between "scraper" and "cutter" are somewhat amusing at times. Then there are all of the variations on scraping. Overall, it doesn't matter much except to know what to expect from a given tool. This is not a "magic" tool, just another one. And like other tools, this one has its place and can be the best one for a particular job. Thanks for your comment.

  • Looks a great tool, I tried to buy one but no delivery to the UK shame.

  • @DennisBlades I now can ship overseas and have shipped several hardware kits and complete tools to UK. Contact me if you're interested.

  • this video is just spam... keep your tool you tool..!

  • @DennisBlades Do a Google search on Oland tool. There are many sites that will show you how to make your own.

  • @weezerman2112 It's not a scraper. It does cut.

  • just wondering why you keep using the word "cutting"? You cant cut wood with a scraper. BTW your tool has been designed and built by a dozen other guys. Get a bowl gouge and learn to use it!

  • how much complete?
