  • Okay. everyone Helen kane IS betty boop! If you look it up Helen Kane is the one who plays betty boops voice!

  • No, Actually Mae Questal played Betty Boop's voice. There was a BIG lawsuit about it in the 1930's. Check Wikipedia or IMDB listings!

  • Helen Kane was dubbed the "boop boop de boop girl". Mae Questal was Betty Boop, not Helen Kane. Sandra Gould took over for Mae Questal later, with the Olive Oil character on Popeye. Sandra was also Gladys Kravitz on the series "Bewitched". She was a "cutie pie" type. There were a million of them back then. Kane was the original.

  • Oh isn't she wonderful???

  • This clip is from the movie "Dangerous Nan McGrew", not one of her best.

  • This is from "Dangerous Nan McGrew", not one of her best. And why is it when Stuart Erwin is in any film, you wonder why he couldn't have fewer scenes? Like in "The Big Broadcast"; too much Erwin, not enough Bing!

  • She's so ADORABLE.

  • adorable!

  • So the guy said no at the end?!?!?!?! What a moron

  • A delight - well done!

  • All it took was that little cutie Helen Kane to make people realize the talkies were a good thing. Buster Keaton didn't hurt matters either.

  • I thought the original Betty Boop inspiration was Clara Bow.

  • Either way, Betty or not! (and I believe she was), Helen Kane was fantastic! I did owe it to myself to watch this number - what a charming and delightful performance. Thank you.

  • Not only was Helen Kane 'Betty Boop' (though the companies marketing Betty Boop always denied this), she was also the obvious original of Marilyn Monroe's 'Sugar Kane Kowalczyk' in 'Some Like it Hot'.

And then Sugar Kane Kowalczyk in turn became the original of Batman's Harley Quinn.

    Helen Kane was everybody!
