THE STORY
I am 100% on my own when creating projects and don't have the financial support from a label. Everything I've been doing is out of pocket, which can be quite overwhelming! Kickstarters usually work the opposite way, you raise the funds and then create the project. I didn't want the success or failure of this campaign to be the driving force behind the making of this record. I want you to have this music, Kickstarter success or not. The making of this record is already in motion so you will see the fruits of your pledge early next year! Plus, this just provides an easy way to pre-order and receive the record before it's release! The Way It Goes is due to release February 2012, just a few short months away!
THE GOAL
My goal is to raise $15,000 in 55 days! Yes, this is a large number but it's just a number. It's pretty simple: If the goal is met, you get some pretty cool stuff! If reaching our goal isn't successful, you walk away without spending a dime. I really believe we can do this together and cannot tell you how much your pledge will mean to this project! Please help spread the word on Facebook and Twitter! Anything is possible!
WHERE YOUR MONEY GOES
Your pledge will be used to pay for producer, studio time, musicians, mixing, mastering and duplication of the album. Extra funds that are raised will be put towards promoting this project (press pack, music video, etc.). There are several other things outside of this goal amount that I have to cover aside from the making the album (website, photos, album art, etc.). I have already gone over budget for this record and really need your help to make this a reality! If we raise more than the projected goal, I will donate 20% of the excess funds to charity! I have yet to decide which charity I will donate to but will keep you posted right here! Every donation is huge!
MY STORY
The songs that I want to share with you are songs that I am extremely proud of and excited to release into the wild. When I released my debut album, If I Could (2009), I wasn't prepared to live out a career playing my songs as an artist. Almost three years later, having traveled many different roads, I am in a different place mentally, physically and spiritually and feel it's time for me to pursue music all the way to the top. I am starting this from scratch and want you to be a part of building the foundation it will take for me to live a long and healthy journey in the musical world. I am inviting you to go on this adventure with me and for you to know that you were a major part of something close to my heart.
There is no amount of gratitude that I can show you to truly express how insanely fortunate I am to have such amazing supporters like you. You guys are what make music fun. As a music listener, I know the importance of music in my life. I know what it does for my soul and attitude on a daily basis. There are songs and entire albums I listen to that define moments of my life through the words, melodies and rhythms that found my soul at the right time. I want my music to do that for you.
