The F-4's were the first Thunderbird planes to be painted in overall white. All other previous types were silver.

@funtimesteve3 I would bet that the Blues would switch to the Super Hornet before the F-35. The Super Hornet is expected to stay in service for quite a while, replacing many of the older aircraft, such as the F-14 and the EA-6B. I'd love to see them in the F-35 but I also find it highly unlikely.
I'm more interested in the Thunderbirds, since chance is almost nil that they'd go to the F-22. Though the F-16 doesn't seem like it's slated for retirement in the near future either.

there is a great possibility that the t-birds will be using the f-35 but im not sure about the blue angels

the f-22 will definitely not be a thunderbird and because its air force it will not be a blue angel either. the f-35 will probably replace the f-16 and the f-18. one of the t-bird pilots said that the f-35 will be the best choice for a replacement for the t-birds in about 20 years. There is also a good chance i think that the navy will use the f-35 as a replacement too. because the f-35 will be used by the usaf, usn, and the usmc

The same goes for the Raptor I presume, and most likely any other future aircraft if I'm not mistaken. I don't see any other options as a replacement for the Hornet. Do you think color matter today? I don't think it's a big issue anymore.

Great stuff. I wonder if the next generation Blue Angels will use the F-35. Any "intel" on this?

no but tbh my view on it would be highly unlikely. For one part composite aircraft can only be painted the once, eg. typhoon. A blue F-35 although it would look nice would likely have that paint scheme throughout it service life and wouldn't have an operational use. A very expensive display aircraft. Thats my view
