I had NO idea that Dr Boyd was on this CNN special...I was actually at this series of messages, no clue it was his most controversial moment. Exactly when I was searching for something beyond what I had seen in the evangelical world after being drawn back to a closer relationship with Christ myself and even met with him--he is a very decent guy--his open attitude towards all is one I wish to emulate. He is a "pro lifer" yet without a specific political agenda. I am not quick to dismiss him.

There is a difference between the statement Greg made "Jesus never so much as commented on the politics of his day" and, as you say "Jesus did talk about the ones in control politically in his day".
Just because a person talks about the person Obama does not mean he is commenting on Obama's politics, Boyd's point is that Jesus never brought up any issues in politics, although he did mention the leaders themselves. Those are two different things.
Surely, you understand this.

I would suggest to other "Christians" who call Greg a heretic to download the series "the cross and the sword" and listen to it before you start throwing stones!! Also, read Isaiah 58 and be blessed!!

Dr. Boyd is wrong Jesus did talk about the ones in control politcally in his day, yet Boyd has the bully pulpit and I suppose that will be left up to those watching and reading to expose as false through their individual study. Then some might add WAIT ------ME STUDY?

This is a refreshing and true concept of Christianity, awesome!

Dr. Boyd is correct about Christianity not being preoccupied with politics; but he's tragically wrong about Abortion, Open Theism, Annihilationism, etc. It disappoints me that Showbread is endorsing this heretic.

um...
Let's see: This guy has far better education than most people in the business, and he talks sense.
Then he's called a heretic.
I like this guy. He seems to have his head in the right place.
