did they have the 2000 models make the same sound when the mower deck was engauged

I can't say for sure. This tractor has the optional Freedom 42 mulching deck. The electric PTO is standard.

@hssenior I have a 2001 LX277 and the deck makes the same 'screech' when the PTO is engaged. It is the belt spin when the tensioner is activated.

@BHShaman the squeak heard in this video is the brake petal linkage. time for a little dry lube again. I always engage the PTO with the engine speed reduced to minimize the slippage on the electric clutch and torque on the belt.
