Actually, when you upload a video to youtube, you give youtube the right to do pretty much anything they want with it, including licensing it to tv networks, or ANYONE they want.
It says so in the Youtube terms and conditions.
Chris Pirillo's video was copyrighted, but uploading to youtube grants them the license to copy it.

This is really awesome.

There was a time what a lot of it was free (and there still is a lot of stuff that is free). But there was never a time when ALL of it was free. People have been selling software since before personal computers existed. And they have the right to do that. We have the right to choose free alternatives—which are plentiful, and don't punish even their legitimate users in the interest of making a buck.
