For months prior to the arrival of the G20 economic summit to Pittsburgh I've seen one of the largest-scale police state propaganda campaigns I've ever had the opportunity to witness. The fear-mongering amongst many in the mass media would be entertaining if it weren't so totally irresponsibly geared toward suppressing democracy - even going to the extreme of potentially inciting the murder of protesters. People interested in some of this might want to read my Cognitive Dissidents "Propaganda" posts @: http://www.goodreads.com/topic/show/178790-propaganda As the police campaign against protesters accelerates, they shine their lights in people's windows at night to terrorize them, harass people in profiling-induced stops on the streets, & generally maintain a threatening presence - all this to protect a few ultra-rich people who've picked Pittsburgh as their place to hold their closed-doors meetings. If it weren't already obvious that the vast majority are of no importance to the police in relation to the powerful few it certainly would be now. This short movie parodies some of my pet peeves about this type of situation: the mass media's prepping the general public to accept police brutality as justified & necessary being one of them. In my opinion, one of the few categories of people to actually benefit from this situation are the arms dealers - as the fear-mongering results in the beefing up the police & National Guard weaponry as well as that of the terrified private citizen. All things herein parodied are based on real incidents. This was made as a collaboration with Cell Media - with whom I'd discussed some of the pre-G20 developments. WISH US LUCK! - September 17, 2009 notes from tENTATIVELY, a cONVENIENCE

  • News should come with consumer warning labels

  • Yeah, something like "Warning: These lies are extremely harmful to the ability to think of the gullible & potentially fatal to intelligence in general"

  • I heard a rumor today from a friend of a friend in the Pittsburgh PD that people are going to be filling up squirtguns with water that has had raw chicken soaking in it for days.

  • One wonders: where do these rumors start? While I find it entirely possible that SOMEONE wd do such a thing, I find it even more possible that someone w/ a sense of humor wd make the joking suggestion of doing such a thing & that either some idiotic 'infiltrator' wd scurry back to his masters & tell them his latest 'horror' story &/OR that some other idiot in the mass media wd latch onto the rumor & use it to beef up their ratings.

  • Take, eg, the throwing-shit-n-piss rumor: what if a 5 gallon bucket w/ some shit & piss in it were found in a squatted bldg? A sensible person might realize that the squatters wd use the bucket INSTEAD OF SHITTING ON THE FLOOR. Why? B/c there's no running water in the bldg! But, in the mind of either a spin doctor or a paranoid this becomes blown up into a fantasy. NOW, maybe somebody WILL throw piss & shit. MAYBE. But the cops will DEFINITELY have deadly weapons. AND can legally kill.

  • This clip is a dead-on portrayal of the hysterical TV "journalism" we've been subjected to here in Pittsburgh, ever since it was announced a couple of months ago that the G-20 summit would be held here. They've shown, over and over and over, the same clip of some kid in London breaking a window during the April G-20 summit.

  • EXACTLY! & they say that WE'LL be throwing shit?! They've been throwing shit at us through the mass media for months now!!
