David Horowitz at UT Austin - Part 4

David Horowitz is a demagogue who routinely targets the "liberal" academy. He has published several books profiling liberal and left-wing professors, and is a advocate of "academic freedom" legislation that, if passed, would stifle critical thought in the classroom. While it's tempting to dismiss Horowitz as an ideologue who will just go away if we ignore him, he has gained significant traction in media and legislatures, and has helped create a political climate in which respected scholars like Norman Finkelstein are denied tenure for their provocative work. He wants to marginalize and effectively do away with feminist, gender studies, critical race, and a host of other important areas of study.
