In 1986 Gene Roddenberry was crewing up his new TV series, STAR TREK, THE NEXT GENERATION. I had been directing low budget TV in Hollywood but wanted to move UP the ladder to Paramount and direct episodes of STAR TREK. I made this video demo reel, sent it to Gene and five weeks later I got a call from Robert H. Justman, one of the original STAR TREK producers, who said Gene loved my demo but he was only hiring Guild directors. Epilogue: Soon after I began preparing my own TV show, Weird America, and stopped pursuing the STAR TREK job. The original demo was 7 minutes long -- this one is dramatically cut down in length.

  • Chuck, this was a fun reel to watch....do you have any shadow vision segments you can share also??

  • I don't quite know what to think of this stuff.

I am amused, however, so that is a good thing.
