I loved my CD32, or at least the concept of it, but not much came out on it (other than a1200 ports). And so the next closest thing i could find with similar graphics (not much better or worse), years later was the gameboy advance. Wings, speedball2. Oh the memories.

its the simple things i miss, you can go on and on about how many frame per-second new games have or your fancy cry engine and blu ray discs.
But not with this, its "hay, look at the colours!"

I was a fan of the C64 and a massive fan of the Amiga, but the day I first saw the announcement of the CD32, I knew Commodore had only months left to live. It had been a pioneer with the previous consoles, but in the 90s all the decisions were bad ones. I still bought one for fun back then, and today I've got two of them in storage, but they were badly designed and out of date at a time when Playstation was just around the corner.

I had the 32 add on for the Amiga 500 and got bored with it after a week. These were the days of FMV video games that while looked great for the time has no variety whatsoever, you were tied to a script and couldnt deviate from it so basically you just plodded along watching a movie. The non game stuff like public domain was cool though, lots of animations and music to play with.

@underworldofutube If you believe some of the Amiga fanboys, this was the most technologically superior machine ever made til the X Box 360 came out (Yes, I shit you not I have seen some of these people make that claim.).
-
@armin3773 Yeah, there is no reason to think this device would have fared any better than any of the other machines commodore made. Yet the fan boys seem to think it would have toppled Nintendo and Sega and reigned as a technological God over the video game landscape/

To the regret CD32 don´t catch the famous status like Amiga 500.
So the company AMIGA goes under and the fate was sealed.
Or did i missunderstood that?

holy shit but this...this...this...is the future O_O

32 bit??? no way it can be THAT fast woooooooooooooooow
We will never know how the CD32 would have done in the marketplace had it been allowed to thrive, because of an injunction brought against Commodore by CadTrak for not licensing their ridiculous XOR cursor software patent. They were barred from selling any machines in the USA, forcing them into Chapter 11 bankruptcy and making it incapable for them to build more CD32s for the coming Christmas holiday. It was the best selling CD console of 1993.
So, folks, get a clue or shut your pie holes.
