Unusual Shadow of the Colossus Kills - #1 Valus

An unusual way to kill the first Colossus, Valus, in Shadow of the Colossus. Shadow of the Colossus is made by Sony's Team ICO.

The name of the colossus is Valus and means "Power" in Latin (I think). I did not make up the name. They were in some magazine when the game originally came out.

This one was originally made as a challenge to beat the first colossus without climbing on his fur at all. After screwing up repeatedly for several hours, I got close enough to the point where I said, "This can be done" and let it rest.

I like this one the best. Mostly because I get flung about a mile by the colossus and pass through its arm at one point ;)

How do you do the jump stab?

@werothegreat While in the air, hold R1 and press square. It's really easy to do, but it can sometimes be difficult to land (especially if the damn thing moves).

It's automatic full power stab, but it takes a long time to pull out the sword (just as long to do a full power stab in total, but if it's the final stab it's faster for time trials). It also looks badass.

I make it look easy and there are 16 colossi in the game.

Which btw, as you can see from the bloopers, it did take me several tries to finally get that jump right.

first of all, sephiroth give demonkiller a break. secondly how do u do the jumping stab, im guessing jump,R1 + square am i right?

Correct. While in the air, just press R1 + square to do a jumping stab. You will immediately do a fully powered stab to the colossi. It's incredibly laggy and when you finally get the sword out, you can get flung away pretty easily. It's designed to be used as the final hit to shave some time off speed runs.

The Colossi have names. All of them. They were named by the producers, because you can't have a giant, rocky, furry, glowing eyed giant, without a name :)
