  • There are homeless advcocates that usually patrol where the homeless live in any city and try to get them off the street. Half of them can get Social Security, and SSI, and live in a apt, senior or handicapped only pay what your income is!!

  • Homelessness is a bad problem all over the country. SF is bad, and even children are homeless, and alot do drugs and drink, it is a sad thing!

  • FYI, I've never been drunk, nor have I ever done so much as smoke weed (which is more than a lot of "fine and upstanding citizens" can say). I've been a committed Christian since 1969. But I still find myself in need of emergency housing, after spending the past 10 months or so sleeping on the couch of a friend, whose house was recently foreclosed.

According to Luke 9:58, Jesus was a homeless man. So if homeless folks are "losers", as some folks claim, then Christ was a "loser" too.

  • For the clueless individuals who think that homeless people all conform to the worst stereotypes about homelessness, let me remind you that an awful lot of "working poor" are just a paycheck or two away from losing their homes. Not all homeless people are living on the streets. People who are forced to stay temporarily with friends or relatives, because they can't afford security desposits and rent, and because jobs are very scarce, are technically homeless. So get some humility and compassion.

  • The sad truth is that most of the chronic homeless in San Francisco are mentally ill or drug addicts or both. I've been yelled at in Golden Gate Park and on Market Street by crazies and its not a pleasant or rational experience.

Is the guy at 4:15 got no legs?

who is begging for spair change?

  • I got there, homeless, in 1998, after my wife took everything. I tried hard to get into a shelter. Mission Rock, and the Presbyterian home. I got a job, staying at Pres, doing phone surveys. Then I applied for a job I saw in the paper. It was for a training program for selling stocks. I got the job, completed the training, and passed my Series 7. From homeless to Stock Broker, with a nice apartment, in less than a year. Thank you, Pres, and David! I couldn't have done it without you!

  • Uhm yea. I LOVE BEING HOMELESS IN SF!!! HAHAHA!!! That's all I gotta say XD
