at least Trane units contain very little copper. If you steal a Trane's coils, you wont get much money thanks to their all aluminum spine fin coil. The only copper in a Trane unit is the refrigerant manifold.

I've seen some units ripped apart around my area in vacent properties. I also rememeber that there was a house around my area that was vacent at one time and the whole ac unit was stolen.
