Thank you so much for posting this. What a hauntingly beautiful, heartbreaking song. A masterpiece from Tom Waits. It is done so well by Joan. I hope that she will record it for her next studio album, to be recorded in December, with Steve Earle producing. We need every song, book, poem, painting, movie, and vote to turn around the madness.

Not only is Joan no Republican, for the first time in her life she's involved herself in partisan politics, to support Barack Obama (check her website joan baez com / obama - She has been at this since she was in high school.

She spent over a month in prison for draft-resistance work, and has faced down rifles with MLK and bullets and bombs around the world, worked with Walesa and Havel on the velvet revolution. , and is the LEAST fake person you could imagine.

Thank you WilliGrz....Joan Baez is an American Treasure....In fact she is a World Treasure...NO ONE can sing like her. Her voice is just as beautiful today as it was 50 years ago when she started. And this is her today. How many people can age this well? Maybe it is because of what is in her soul.
