Have you ever seen a bird eat upside down?
The Eastern Goldfinch, also commonly known as the American Goldfinch, is so light, it is one of a select few birds that can accomplish this amazing feat.
If you live on the Eastern part of the United States, and would like some of these bright beauties to visit your back yard, it's pretty easy to set up.
Head over to Home Depot, and get yourself an upside down finch feeder, and a bag of thistle seed, also known as Nyger seed.
Then, enjoy your new friends!

Thanks for helping me ID this bird! I'm not a "birder," and I'm not originally from NJ. I saw one of these for the first time recently in Gloucester County, NJ.. It was striking because it was so bright yellow, I'd call it "neon yellow." Just beautiful.
