I find Bennett Cerf's preamble before asking a question... very annoying. He loves to show off all that he thinks he knows. And it's ironic because usually he's wrong.

@soulierinvestments no one could hold a candle to john daly: witty, urbane and genuinely other oriented, he handled every guest with that special kind of class that makes everyone feel at ease. "this country is so free i never know what i'm allowed to say." Great line!

Sept 1966 -- even at this late stage WML Sunday could generate a stellar episode: early Woody Allen when he was a writer/comic, Daly, Cerf, Francis, Phyllis Newman, and earlier in the evening, Leontyne Price and now Ustinov.
Gil Fates wrote that Larry Blyden was the great WML moderator-interviewer, but here Daly shows he can do as good an interview as anyone. Note how quickly and easily he gets all that interesting and educational conversation from the very funny Ustinov.
