Document fabuleux qui remat en question tout ce qui a été dit sur Caballé et ses prises de rôles dan gereuses des années 80: chanter ainsi Salomé à la fin des années 50!! Elle avait vraiment à dire dans Strauss et dans Mozart avant que l'on confie cela aux grosses voix ou aux timbres de corde à linge! C'est splendide.

How wonderful to hear the glorious voice of Caballe at this young age, and it is unmistakeable!! more power was yet to come but she sings with such grace and beauty. In later years she may not have been aesthetically everyones ideal salome but vocally she was spot on! A beautiful voice and a beautiful person I could listen to her forever!!!!

They allow me that she gathers my jaw of the ground. What thing incredible, sing thus Salome w 23 y o. There is no doubt that Caballe was born with a special gift to sing. What wonderful artist she is!

It was her favorite role & for a primarily lyric singer, this heavy dramatic role is somehow perfectly suited to her. Caballe did a much better job of singing Salome than Hildegard Behrens or Teresa Stratas. Caballe seem to really give it her all. Here, however, she is tame and doesn't let out the intensity in her later Salome performances.

Grâce à ces 2 documents uniques publiés par Oneguin65, (1957 et 1987) il apparaît très clairement que Salomé n'a pas quitté le répertoire de Caballé pendant plus de 30 ans...même si elle l'a peu chanté en France! Dans Mozart, Caballé a sans doute souffert de la mode des "voix light", intiée par les directeurs et les metteurs en scène dans les seventies: quelle Comtesse des Noces elle nous aurait offert !!
