This is a quick video clip of my bike, almost ready for summer. My bud Mike just finished the bumble bee paint job for it, and all I have left to do is the lights and controls rigging.
It has a 49cc 4 stroke with pressure oil and filter engine, automatic cvt transmission, 10 amp alternator for lights, electric start. The 21 speed pedals are geared with the engine to a common jackshaft with complementing ratios that allow the rider to pedal with the engine up to its 29 mph upper end. It has a 2.5 gallon fuel tank made out of a repurposed propane tank I plasma cut in half. Rolling on DOT rated motorcycle tires wheels and brakes this bike should be able to do coast to coast across the united states without flats or maintenance in a couple weeks. At 120 mpg you get 300 miles to the tank or 10 hours of riding, fill up once a day ;-) on the open highway.

So how do you like my motor assisted bicycle???

  • @paulc43 damn I love being me//////

  • trike riders are usually weirdos

  • The wheels I obtained from themopedjunkyard . com they are tomos moped wheels with 16x2.75 DOT tires

The thick DOT tread ensures road hazards are not a problem, and are very long wearing 10 maybe 20,000 miles on a set.

I would recommend going to DOT hydraulic disc brakes, much simpler than the mechanical DOT drum brakes on this trike. DOT hydraulic disc brakes are all I am using here forward.

  • I love this bike, great job man. I can't afford to buy one but I'd like to build one.

Where did you get the wheels, axles and bearings, or better yet what scooter/motorcycle were the wheels from?
