Excerpts from the filmmaker "q&a" sessions after screening our short The Sandman at the Nashville International Film Festival this April. It also features some behind the scenes photos and we dish the nasty dirt on the actors. We discuss the project's origins, stop motion animation, home grown automata, technical junk, budget, the uncanny, and Guy Maddin.

If you notice, there is another director in the video, but I cut out all his jibber jab because he is smarter and better looking than me. This is my profile and I don't want some fellah making me look like a moron (any more than I already do).

Oh man I am tellin ya!
You don't wanna miss this one!
I won't give away the ending!

oh and...sorry it is so dark - there wasn't a lot of light in the theater.

  • Please tell me where you get your music for your films!! please im dying to know i am also obsessed with silent films!

  • video looks awesome! love the book! (BUT!!! Freud's concept is not merely concerned with the inanimate which appears 'alive', but a class of fear in which the familiar has been repressed!)

  • Thank you so much for posting this video, I love The Sandman and to know some of your techniques in making it is a bonus.
