  • I have to say I somewhat agree with rajkbose. This rendition does not by any stretch do justice to Robert Burns.

  • My choir sounds better than this...of course we have the violinist. It doesn't even tell the story in this though, the music is WAY too happy for a girl to lose her virginity and be sad about.

  • :D

  • we're singing this in choir, this is a slow, sad song, about a girl who gets pregnant and the guy leaves her..this makes it seem happier..and its not giving the right mood..i love this song..just not this version.

  • Shes a great artist but I prefer the original version. The music states it should be sung tenderly.

  • I sang this song in my school choir... except in english - - not scottish. but I live for this song!!

  • better than the original !! way better

  • Isn't the point of the poem to counterpose her sadness to nature bursting with beauty and joy? That's why I think this version fits musically with what Burns was writing about.

Thanks Eddi... I love this version.

  • Stunning Performance. Eddi is such an amazing artist.

  • She murdered that beautiful song. Robert Burns must be rolling in his grave !!!
