On Nov 15, 2006 one of the killer whales in the Shamu Show at Sea World in San Diego took one of the trainers on an unplanned "ride" under water. This happened two weeks before the more highly publicized accident that happened on Nov. 29, 2006. Watch the trainer who dives off of a whale to the right of the screen.

****Lots of people have stated in the comments that they didn't see what happened. First...when this actually happened, I didn't even realize I captured it on video--I wasn't zoomed in on any specific whale or person until I realized something was wrong. If you watch the trainer who dives in the water at the beginning, as he gets part way across the pool a whale comes up behind him and they both disappear under the water. And, if you watch the trainers on the stage, you'll notice they go into a panic/rescue mode. Yeah, it isn't the best video quality and doesn't show a lot of details due to the low resolution when I uploaded it.

  • Injured or not.. Leave them in the ocean.

They aren't for entertainment unless they're in an animal documentary in the wild.

  • Fark! He was under for at least 25 seconds! That would have be terrifying!

  • @lkwhostalkinggx3 SeaWorld's attempts are illusions. there is nothing more Sea World is teaching us about orcas that we cannot learn from watching them in their natural habitats. the only thing SeaWorld teaches people are the behaviors of captive animals. the answer is to stop the shows and stop the breeding. they are doing more harm to the attitudes of the public, people like you, who the veil is brought down upon. please see through SeaWorld's conservation lies.

  • @BomaBoi word....the great white shark ta this day refuses ta be in ah tank...they purposely kill themselves wen they are....

  • @lkwhostalkinggx3 Orcas were mainly captured from the ocean until the late 80s early 90s where they started to be born into captivity. Still yet, they only live half as long. Animal captivity is just cruel and wrong.. Especially for dolphins.. They are being tortured every single day.. Just because you feed your prisoner does NOT make you a virtuous captor..

  • @BomaBoi working with them everyday. there is no finer marine mammal facility than that one right there in central Flordia. those people commit their lives (and readily risk it on a daily basis) to these animals. I don't see how people can say they don't give two shits about the animals. they love what they do. and they love those whales.

  • @BomaBoi actually, in recent history, most (I'm not saying all) captive orcas were born in those tanks. with the success of breeding in captivity, there is no need to seek to the wild oceans any longer. I'm not here to say I one hundred and ten percent agree with captivity, and I am well aware of the life span decrease that these animals face, but as I've said before, captivity isn't stopping. these animals have some of the best trainers, some of the best killer whale people in the world

  • @marsmick ... You know its annoying when people tell you stuff you know right?? It would be like if I were to bitch to you about the cruelty of animal captivity. Dolphins live for only half as long in captivity, they develop horrible ulcers. They try to commit suicide.. They get pissed off and kill the trainer some times. Isn't it irritating when people try to preach stuff to you that you already know? BTW Orca is the greatest predator.. Dolphins fuck and gang rape for fun. They are also gay =D

  • @lkwhostalkinggx3 Im sorry but I strongly disagree. Sea world does not care about Orcas or Dolphins at all. They only care about their share holders. Profits and profits is what drives Sea World to hold so many dolphins and Orca's captive. Its cruel. And btw, most of them are born in the wild and brought into Sea World. Only a VERY FEW are born into captivity. ALL dolphins and orcas in captivity only live about half the normal life span compared to dolphins in the wild. Captivity is torture..

  • @marsmick I'm not going to sit here and deny that the killer whales are HUGE money makers for SeaWorld, making up at least 75% of their annual income. However, that doesn't discredit SeaWorld's efforts to educate the public about these animals and conservation. Most captive whales were born in those tanks; they know no different. Captivity isn't stopping, so I think we all need to appreciate SeaWorld's efforts in trying to make things better. Not just for whales but for all marine life.

  • @marsmick

did not know that. my bad for the comment

  • @BomaBoi you know orcas are dolphins, right?
